Scholar Wins the National Service in Action Photo Contest
As an event photographer for the Center for Public Service, I was asked to photograph the “For The Children Literacy and Tutoring Program” at Sophie B. Wright Charter School. A photo I took that day was entered on my behalf in the National Service in Action Photo Contest sometime last semester. A couple of weeks ago, I got an email informing me that I was chosen as one of four finalists out of hundreds of submissions. Out of the four finalists chosen, the picture with the most “likes” on the “Saveservice.org” Facebook page was chosen as the winner and flown out to Washington D.C to receive an award at the “Friends of National Service” Reception. Thanks to you guys, I won the contest and was honored at the reception alongside congressmen and other state officials on Monday February 11th.
